The Hideout Lodge and Guest Ranch is an upscale working guest ranch in Shell, Wyoming, an easy driving distance from Cody, Wyoming and the East entrance of Yellowstone National Park. The Hideout shares approximately 300,000 acres and 1,300 head of cattle with the 100-year old Flitner Cattle Ranch. In addition to cattle work and scenic trail rides, additional activities like trapshooting, an excellent fly-fishing program and overnight mountain horseback riding trips make The Hideout unique as a working cattle ranch-resort. The Hideout strives for excellence in all departments yet they really excel in a professional and authentic staff and their natural horsemanship initiatives. While the guests live the cowboy life during the day, they are sure to be pampered with a selection of upscale lodging accommodations and a gourmet culinary experience throughout their stay.

| Lodging: | Located in the beautiful town of Shell, Wyoming (population 50), The Hideout offers guests luxurious private log cabins and casitas with beautiful Western decor. All cabins have modern bathrooms, satellite TV, high-speed internet, telephones, etc. plus porches with rocking chairs that overlook the spectacular Big Horn Mountains. Cabins vary in bedding from queen-size beds to cabins with two double beds, however all Cabins offer beautiful Pendleton blankets. There are four Casitas, apt/suites, which offer either a king or two twin beds, separate living rooms, full kitchens, and in-room laundry facilities. The Hideout also offers a choice of private 3bedroom luxury homes just off the main property, this is a great option for large families. The Hideout homes can accomodate 6-10 persons. Guests have the opportunity to experience an overnight stay in the mountains at 8,200 feet. Only open 2,5 months during summer the Upper Hideout, our high mountain lodge, offers the same level of comfortable lodging. Guests are able to relax in cabins similar to those on the main property and enjoy the peace and quiet of the mountains. |
| Kids' Program: | The Hideout does not offer a children's program. The Hideout's programs are geared toward educating guests; whether learning more about horsemanship, Stockmanship, working cattle, cowboying, fly fishing, hiking or a trip to the local dinosaur dig sites while having fun and being pampered. The Hideout strives to treat children as young adults and to offer them the full Hideout ranch experience. The Hideout welcomes children of all ages as long as they are up to the challenge. |
| Food/Dining: | The Hideout's hearty Western fare and gourmet dinners are one of the main reasons that repeat guests return every year. You can be assured that excellent dining is taken very seriously at The Hideout. Each item is prepared with only the best and freshest ingredients. The Hideout has not one but two culinary school chefs on staff to make sure that only the best is served to the guests. The Hideout's breakfasts are hearty to assure you make it through a vigorous day of "cowboying". Each morning the chef's create homemade dishes such as eggs prepared any way you want them. In addition, there is a generous breakfast selection at served buffet style. For the all-day rides, hearty sandwiches are freshly prepared in the morning to ensure The Hideout's standards for quality. Otherwise, a scrumptious lunch is served in the dining room of the Main Lodge. In the evening, guests are served western-style gourmet food, elegantly presented, with either wine or beverage of their choice. Once a week (weather permitting) there is an outdoor cook-out where a juicy, marbled Certified Angus Beef amongst other tantalizing food is served. |
